AMD apparently plans an extension of the portfolio in processors and finally wants to recover the price range under 200 euros with a meaningful selection. Because as well as Golem reports, AMD with the Ryzen 5,5500, Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 7 5700X three new CPUs on Zen 3-based will launch. Since the Ryzen 5 5600x is currently about 230 euros, at least the two planned new Ryzen 5 model could land under 200 euros.

Although AMD has the Ryzen 5 5600x and Ryzen 7 5800x for the pedestal AM4 two in terms of price-performance ratio very good CPUs on offer. Both CPUs are a bit slower than the Intel Core i5-12600K and Core i7-12700K, but can already be overclocked with a much cheaper mainboard than in Intel’s socket 1700. Therefore, the price-efficiency is almost a draw between AMD and Intel, which is concerned with gaming CPUs. However, what AMD has been missing for the base 1200’s Core i5-10400F, processors are under 250 euros that can compete with Intel in terms of gaming.

Core I5 under 200 euros as a scale

For the Ryzen 5000 models, there is no choice under 200 euros at all, and the older Ryzen 3000 CPUs are clearly inferior Intel Core i5 models for the socket 1200 and 1700. The Ryzen 5 3600 costs, for example, 200 euros and is slower in games than the Core i5-10400F, which there is already about 140 euros. The slightly faster successor Core i5-11400F gets for 170 euros, the once again faster Core i5-11400F (socket 1700) for 180 €.

AMD vs. Intel in 2022
In our upgraded special from the weekend we also go more closely on the topic of CPUs, we recommend no purchase of an AMD CPU below the Ryzen 5 5600x. Intel, on the other hand, offers a huge value for money with the already mentioned Core I5-10400F, and who puts on four cores (eight threads) for games for games still sufficient for a few years, can even with a Core i3 model under 100 Buy Euro. AMD must definitely do something under 200 euros if the Team Red also wants to achieve gamers with a particularly high budget.
